♥I am still out in America this week and it has been a real pleasure meeting so many wonderful people and tasting all the delicious food. Having said that I can’t wait to come home and have home cooked food. I always have that feeling after going away, of wanting to come back to something simple, wholesome and homemade, but without too much hassle; this is when I turn to one of my favourite foods in my pasta book!
♥You can rarely go wrong with a good pasta dish no matter the age of the child or adult!
And the great thing about pasta is that you can have it any time of the year with hundreds of combinations of flavours. I would recommend teaming it up with seasonal vegetables, and courgette and runner beans are in abundance at the moment.
I have chosen a few of my favourite dishes that your babies, toddlers and even teenagers and parents will enjoy.
♥Pasta Stars with Carrot is a tasty nutritious meal for your child if they are 7 months or over. Interestingly, carrots are more nutritious when cooked with a little butter or oil. They are rich in lycopene, a powerful antioxidant which is better absorbed by our bodies when cooked in a little butter or oil.
Introduce your baby to more lumpy food by mixing their favourite puree with my ‘make it easy’ pasta shapes.
♥For when your children are able to sit with you and eat as a family, try my Spaghetti Primavera, an easy recipe that will keep all the family happy.
♥If you have managed to grow your own vegetables this year or have got a few courgettes left over from the pasta dish, why not try my delicious Courgette and Raisin Muffins, an ideal way of getting more vegetables into children without them knowing!
I hope you are enjoying the last of the summer days we have been predicited!
