This year’s Save the Children’s annual fundraising week coincides with the Royal Wedding. I’m delighted to be supporting their Born to Party campaign and here are some of my favourite party recipes and fun top tips to make sure your celebrations go with a bang.
Party food is best when it’s fun and colourful, but that doesn’t mean it can’t taste good too. The Watermelon Pig is such an amazing way to serve fruit and is always greeted with squeels of delight, and you can make the Bagel Snake as long as you like!
Cupcakes are always popular and children will have fun decorating them to look like animals and these Jewelled Cupcakes are fit for a princess – let your party girls decorate their own!
These sandwiches don’t require lots of cooking but certainly have a real wow factor. They’ll amaze little party goers and give them energy to run around and have a blast.
Stuck for party ideas? Join me & Save The Childrenfor a #borntoparty Twitter party on Thursday 28th April at midday – tweet your party question & I’ll answer with recipe advice and top tips. The best tweet wins a signed copy of Annabel’s Kitchen: My First Cookbook!
Whether you are having a street party or a gathering at your home, Save the Children estimate that an average party, with a tiny bit of effort, could raise up to £300 – enough to treat almost a thousand children suffering from pneumonia. I hope these party food ideas have given you inspiration and the passion to raise money this Friday and change children’s lives.
